DEADLINE for receipt of POSTER ABSTRACTS – 11 June 2010

Authors are requested to read the instructions below carefully before preparing and submitting their abstract.

Abstract acceptance and inclusion in the program

Abstract acceptance, editing and program scheduling will be advised via email to the person submitting the abstract. Notification of successful abstract submissions will be by 15th June 2010. Poster specifications will be provided on acceptance of your abstract.

Contributions will be included in the Program and Handbook only if at least one of the authors is registered to attend the conference by Friday 1st August, 2010. The Program Committee reserves the right to refuse any contribution that is not appropriate to the conference or not of sufficient scientific or technological merit.

Invitation to publish in IFSET

Selected papers from speakers and poster presentations will be given the opportunity to publish their FIESTA 2010 presentation in the - Innovative Food Science and Emerging Technologies (IFSET) journal. Written papers will be required by no later than Thursday, 2nd July 2010 and will be reviewed and published after the conference. Guidelines will be communicated to accepted abstracts.

Guidelines for Poster Abstracts

The Abstract should comprise Title; Authors; and Main Body, laid out as in the following example. Please follow the guidelines below. Please underline the presenting author

Abstracts should be 250 - 300 words (12 pt and justified)

Text should be provided in sentence case. Please do not type abstract titles or abstract text all in capital letters.

Abstracts must include the main objective/s or justification, methods, results, conclusions and significance or impact

Guidelines for Poster Abstracts

  • Abstracts must include the main objective/s or justification, methods, results, conclusions and significance or impact
  • Abstracts submitted will be refereed, and accepted abstracts printed in the final program
  • Abstracts should be written in clear and comprehensible English and should be checked for accuracy and misspelling prior to submission
  • Abstracts will be approved on their merit and must be based on previously unpublished data
